Family Camping at Red Top Mountain

red top mountain family camping

We are an outdoor family. In fact, we are probably one of the most active families you could meet. The kids and I are constantly out doing some sort of activity and camping is no exception.

We headed to Red Top Mountain  one weekend for a quick getaway. It was so peaceful and absolutely wonderful!

With a busy weekend, we weren’t in our cabins much, but the time we spent there was absolutely wonderful! We took some time to make smores for the kids, and they loved it!

With so much to do onsite, you and the little ones can get lost for days: lake views, hiking, and a massive playground all cover this amazing state park.

This looks amazing. I wonder if I could ever get back to Georgia to go there with my kids. I went once in my 20s and I didn’t want to leave. The friendliest place!

What a beautiful lake and fun trip. We love to camp. We used to do a month out on the lake here in California. I would love to visit this gorgeous destination.

This is so beautiful I really really really hope the little ones had an phenomenal time and they thank you for these beautiful memories later on! We have never gone camping as a family and I really wish we took the time out to these kinds of things while growing up so that now I could carry the tradition when I have my own family. I suppose I can start the tradition!

Camping as a family sounds really fun for everyone! I haven’t done it in forever but am hoping to visit the Blue Ridge mountains this spring or summer. 🙂

I have never been camping. And I’ll just say there is part of me who is not up for roughing it… like EVER, but these views are amazing.

No real tips. Bring your own food or stop before you get there. The closest grocery store is about 15 minutes away. If you arrive after dark there is no lighting, finding our spit was really hard.
