Happy September! I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! This past weekend I decided it would be a great idea to take the kids to Boston for a few days.  This was a surprise trip, I just wanted to drive! I didn’t make any particular plans, it was just one of those weekends where I decided it would be nice to do something with the kids.

We started off our trip with a drive to Cape Cod! I had never visited when we lived here, so it was nice to take a day trip early in the morning before it got too crowded. We found a small private beach and walked for a while. It was perfect!

We spent our Labor Day in the city of Boston at the Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays baseball game thanks to Tickets.Expert! Our fall family friendly vacation in Boston was thanks to the Tickets.Expert! Since the trip was last minute, we were able to purchase our tickets for the game via the website while walking around downtown. Then we headed right to the game! This was a perfect way to spend our last evening in the city before school starts! Find tickets to your local MLB game here with Tickets.Expert!

While walking around downtown, Aidan saw all of the people standing around outside, and next thing I know we’re going to a baseball game! Since the game had already begun we manage to score some incredible seats for super cheap! $6 each!! You can’t beat that (how could I say “NO” to that).  As a single parent, having the ability to treat my children to something ‘nice’ while staying on a budget it helpful. Any deal I come across, I’m on it. Tickets.Expert actually helped our mini-vacation end on a high note.

While in town, we also snuck away for a night to see The Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse. This was the children’s very first theater experience. I wanted to make it fun! It was toss up between The Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil – Ovo. We played Rock, Paper, Scissors: paper won!

Pulling up to the stadium, the kids got so excited they could hardly contain themselves!

Since we’ve never been to an MLB game before, this was quite the experience. The kids and I really enjoyed ourselves!

I mentioned earlier that we also grabbed tickets to see The Blue Man Group! Boy, we were not disappointed! The kids really enjoyed themselves, and the show was amazing! I’ve always heard that it was a great time, but it exceeded our expectations for sure!

Our mini trip to Boston was an overall success thanks to the last minute tickets we were able to secure. I love just hopping in the car and taking trips, it’s even better when I’m able to find a great activity for the three of us to do as well!

Last stop on our trip was Parnassus Book Service in Yarmouth!! I love books so when I saw this place as we passed by, I knew we had to stop!

Are you thinking of taking any fall trips? Day trips are a great way to get out and connect with your loved ones for a while.
